So What’s Happening?
BT Group has announced a revision to its timetable for moving all customers – consumers and businesses – off the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and onto digital landlines. The move follows the introduction of a series of improvements to the programme to better protect vulnerable customers and those with additional needs, including telecare users.
The original timetable was set to complete in December 2025 however this has now been moved to January 2027.
What Does This Mean For Me?
Your existing analogue services will still need to be replaced by a new IP based system, there are lots of new products and solutions available, but the most common change will be from PSTN phone lines to VoIP based services.
So, What Do I Do?
Simply put nothing. This does not change the approach that Riviera Networks are taking to your buildings. We will survey and migrate services as and when the new digital infrastructure becomes available.
